Institut für Afrika-Kunde (Institute of African Affairs). IAA was founded in February 1963 on the initiative of the Afrika Verein (Africa Association) and members of Hamburg University. The Institute principally covers the whole of sub-Saharan Africa with respect to research, advisory services, documentation and information. International Helsinki Federation for Human Rights. IHFHR is a self-governing group of non-governmental, not-for-profit organizations that act to protect human rights throughout Europe, North America, and the Central Asian republics formed from the territories of the former Soviet Union. International Peace Research Institute, Oslo. Founded in 1959, PRIO was one of the first centres of peace research in the world. We are Norway's only peace research centre.
